I'm sitting in a media tute, and realise I have opinions on how the world operates, unlike some of the quiet people in the corner of the room who come to simply have their name checked off. So I figure I should voice them in a blog. Luke is the one who gave me the formal introduction to blogging so I figured I should talk my shit digitally. My new laptop has made a very attractive option as well.
A blurb about myself first, in order to set the mood. My name is Roger Merzian, but college people refer to me as "Jolly" and random people see me as "that awesome guy". My last name's Armenian, its where my dads family and thus my dark features come from, but honestly I have a completly mixed Mediterrean backgroud.
As for the name Jolly, well I use to sail catamarans, Google my name and me winning the youth segmenf of a sailng competition. Hence I am a pirate, and this brought about the Jolly Roger and thus Jolly. Honestly I prefer Jolly, cause after 20 years im bored with Roger.
Ok I'm sorry if that was painful, The media tute is annoying, its the same theme week after week and most people here either have no opinion or they just haven't done any of the backround reading. But that's arts for you, we have to learn about stupid terms for media at a global scale and read from retards who are justifying their job with page long run-ons about some pointless term or new theory. To top it off we right essaies about this.
I saw Wanted the other night with a friend. I found it amazing that when I came out, I had enjoyed the film but wanted a bigger dosage of gorgeous women and ridicously awesome cars. It is the Western media which I beleive has taught me to expect this from an action movie. Example, THe Dark Knight, great film, had him riding in a Lamborgini to be nonchalant. yet the girl used was nothing amazing. It just seams that in order to make a blockbuster action movie, the neccessities include gorgeous women and very expensive cars.
Anyway, i have daily thoughts of randomness which I aim to make clear in this blog.

Commenting, because comments are always nice. Seeing that little number go up sustains me. And yeah, media tutes tend to repeat themselves. Over and over and over.
